This page does not tell you whether a TikTok username is free. TikTok does not answer profile requests that arrive without a session, so the only place that can answer is the Username field in the app — and it also refuses names held by suspended or deactivated accounts, which look free from the outside.

How many characters can a TikTok username have?+
2 to 24. Only letters, numbers, underscores and periods are allowed, and a period cannot sit at the end of the name. Every idea on this page is already inside that rule — nothing longer than 24 characters is generated.
How often can I change my TikTok username?+
Once every 30 days. And when you change it, your profile link changes with it, so anything pointing at the old link stops working. That cooldown is the reason to test the name out loud before you take it.
What is the difference between a TikTok username and a nickname?+
The username is the @ that forms your profile link. The nickname is the name shown to other people across TikTok — it can have spaces and capitals and does not have to be unique. Most people mean the nickname when they say "name" and the username when they say "handle".
Does this tool check whether a TikTok username is taken?+
No. TikTok does not serve profile data to a request that has no session, so nothing on this page can honestly claim a live TikTok check. The Username field in the TikTok app is the only place that answers — and it will also refuse names attached to suspended or deactivated accounts.
Can I get my old TikTok username back?+
Not immediately. TikTok says a username you give up cannot be added to an account again for a short period, and by then someone else may have taken it. Treat a TikTok rename as one-way for at least a month.
