Frequently asked questions
How does X count characters?+
X counts most characters as one, but each emoji and each CJK character counts as two, and every link counts as 23 regardless of its length. The 280 limit applies to standard accounts. This counter shows graphemes; treat links as 23 each.
What is the Instagram caption limit?+
2,200 characters, and up to 30 hashtags. Only the first line or two show before "more", so the hook goes at the top.
How long can a YouTube title and description be?+
Title 100 characters, description 5,000. Titles are cut around 70 characters on desktop and 50 on mobile, so keep the important words early.
How does Bluesky count?+
By graphemes, 300 of them — an emoji or a flag counts as one, which is how this counter counts too.
