LinkedIn text formatter for bold, italic and bullets

LinkedIn's composer has no bold button — it sends plain text. Select a few words below, pick a style, and the letters are swapped for Unicode characters that look the part and survive the paste.

Bullets

0 / 3,000 characters

Nothing is uploaded — the swap happens in your browser. Post limit 3,000 characters, read from LinkedIn's help on 2026-08-29; the characters come from the Unicode Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block.

Use it on two or three words, not the whole post

These are not bold letters — they are separate characters that look bold. A screen reader announces them as mathematical symbols instead of reading the word, and LinkedIn's search does not match them. A styled heading and one styled number cost you nothing; a styled paragraph makes the post unreadable to anyone using assistive technology and invisible to search. Hashtags and @mentions have to stay ordinary letters or they stop linking.

Frequently asked questions

Why can I not just make text bold on LinkedIn?+

Because the LinkedIn composer sends plain text — it has no bold button and no markdown. Every bold post you have seen swapped the letters for lookalike characters from a Unicode block, which is what this tool does.

Is bold text on LinkedIn bad for accessibility?+

It has a real cost. A mathematical bold "A" (U+1D400) is not the letter A, so a screen reader announces it as a symbol rather than reading the word, and text search does not match it. Style two or three words — a heading, one number — and leave the body of the post as ordinary letters.

Will hashtags and mentions still work if I style them?+

No. A hashtag or an @mention has to be made of ordinary letters for LinkedIn to link it. Leave those two untouched; the tool never styles them for you.

How long can a LinkedIn post be?+

3,000 characters, and the counter here measures against that. Only the first few lines show before "see more", so the hook belongs at the top — before the styled heading, not after it.

Do the styles survive a paste?+

Yes — they are characters, not formatting, so they paste into a post, a comment, a headline or a message and keep looking the same. That is also why you cannot undo them by clearing formatting; you retype the word.
