YouTube shorts video size: 1080 × 1920
YouTube does not set a pixel size for Shorts; it sets a rule. Any upload "with a square or vertical aspect ratio up to three minutes in length" is a Short (for uploads since 15 October 2024), and Shorts are capped at 1080p — so 1080 × 1920 is the largest vertical Short and 1080 × 1080 the largest square one. A 16:9 video is never a Short, whatever its length. The Shorts thumbnail is the same shape: 2160 × 3840.
